Thinking Outside of the "Juke" Box

One of the most memorable moments of a wedding reception is the first dance as Husband and Wife. When choosing a song which will sweetly become "your" song its important to choose something that relates to your relationship. If you are an adventurous couple that enjoys things like skydiving or white water rafting "Unchained Melody" might not be the song for you. However there are always a handful of songs that are so beautiful they seem to suit any couple. We all know the old favorites that will forever remain "classics", however we've decided to compile a list of songs with more of a modern ring to them to get you "thinking outside of the juke box" Enjoy some of our modern favorites with glimpses at the lyrics.

Hawaii, Paris, Bora Bora, Italy, Mexico, Jamaica...just to name a few! We can all agree that these are some of the best and most beautiful destinations for a Honeymoon. But they can also burn a hole in your wallet. Soooooo, we wanted to give a fresh insight into bridal registry. How cool would it be to register for a "spa package", or a lovey "dinner for 2", or "upgrade to a honeymoon suite"? We came across this unique website called www.honeyluna.com, there you can register for your "Ultimate" honeymoon destiantion package. Instead of just asking your guest to give cash, this is more fun and it allows them to choose what they would like to give you as a gift. The cool thing about the website is that they have travel agents that will assist you in planning that Perfect honeymoon get away. But thats not all they do, they even let you create your own wedding website for all your friends and family to see. They give you tips on choosing your dress and dressing your bridal party all the way to finding the photographer. So instead of registering for spatuals, ladies you can register for a spa day!And for men, instead of registering for golf clubs, perhaps you can register for a day on the course! We recommend you register for as much stuff as you can...that way you have some variety and you will have memories to last a lifetime!!!

Do Me a Flavor

Today we thought we'd do a little twist on wedding favors. Out with the old and in with the new. We have piles of "spoon fulls of kisses from the Mr. and Mrs." heaps of floating candles, and dare we say even seashell shaped soaps? Whatever are we do to with these favors?

We've done our homework and came up with a collection of tasty little treats that are sure to please and guest's pallet. Here are our choices for best "edible" wedding favors.

First on our list today are these darling present cakes. How does bourbon vanilla cheesecake sound? (We think we may order some just for ourselves, no wedding involved) Not only do these delicious little cakes taste great, but they look great too. Our suggestion is to place these on the gift table where your guests can swap their gift for one of these yummy cakes. Who says you cant have a little dessert before dinner?

Next we have custom boxed wedding truffles. Each box comes sweetly tied with your choice of blue, pink, ivory or white ribbon. Your guests can snack on these in between wedding festivities or save them for later. We suggest going with the pocket fold on your guests napkins and tucking these adorable little boxes in with a personalized note or label.

Last on our list, but one of our favorites is a "do it yourself" candy bar. You can hire someone to put one of these together for you or you can simply do this one yourself. Choose a selection of different glass jars from your local craft store, fill them up with your favorite candies, garnish them with personalized labels, and there you have a fantastic wedding favor. Our favorite take out containers are the chinese take out boxes. They come in a variety of colors and sizes and they're also a perfect canvas to add a personalized touch to. Whether it be a monogrammed label, satin ribbon or a friendly gerbera daisy these boxes serve as a chic favor that your guests are sure to love.

"Flawless Fashionista"

Well it's about that time....yep summer is approaching and as a former bride myself , we all know how hot and miserable it can get in those beautiful dresses. But lets face it girls, we also want to be as comfortable as we can be on our "special" day. Who wants to be taking pictures with wet hair, sweat all over your face and wondering if your mascara is running. Sooooo here we are featuring one of our favorite summer dresses. It's elegant, It's simple and perfect for that "flawless" day.

Ok so we wanted to do something "refreshing" and what better way to kick this one off with some tasty wedding cocktail drinks. There are many unique glassware depending on the style, theme, or season of your wedding. Here we have posted a few of our favorites. Also check out www.rokz.com they have all different kinds of cocktail garnishing to spice up your drinks.

Love is in the Air
2 oz. sloe gin
2 dashes raspberry syrup
2 dashes lemon juice
1 egg white
Put all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake well, strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Drop a raspberry in the glass for a special touch.

Sealed with a Kiss
2 oz chocolate liqueur such as Godiva or Crème de Cacao
1.5 oz vodka
Hershey's Kiss
Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice,shake well, and pour into a chilled cocktail glass. Put a Hershey's Kiss in the bottom for the added love touch.

Hot Romance
1 1/2 oz rum
2 oz cranberry juice
2 oz orange juice
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail glass over ice. Stir and serve with an orange slice.

Blushing Bride
2oz Moscato Wine(any brand)
2oz Sprite/7up
1 Strawberry
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail glass(ice is optional). Stir and put a strawberry at bottom of glass for added flavor.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue
2oz of Hypnotic
2oz Moscato
1oz Ginger Ale
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail glass and stir. Add your own favorite type of garnishing for that added touch.
